This is a bar my dad and I built back in the summer of 2005. We used old cabinet modules and restained the fronts. All the plumbing and electrical was also done by us. The mirror was an old one that used to be in the master bedroom. The counter tops were done by someone else. They are granite tiles bought for about $7 a square foot.

Here is just the set up of my hot tub. This hot tub was purchase at arctic spas and the slabs used around the tub were bought from Van Beeks if I recall correctly for about $10 a slab. Overall installation of the tub was easy. The only prep required was that the floor was level. This was accomplished by ripping up the grass and putting gravel on...

I saw these reindeer at Sheridan Nursery for $100 and thought I could make something similar at a cost much less. I took these pictures and we got some wood from our garage to reproduce the reindeer.

Here is our chimney we redid last summer. The top of it started to crack due to a moisture problem. We selected these light colored stones to replace the old ones and had a contractor come and do the job.

This is a deck we built a couple years after moving in. The deck the house came with was way to small so this extension was much needed. It wasn't too difficult. Preparing the foundation and putting in the concrete posts that the deck sits on was probably the hardest part. Then joists were spanned across the posts and thats what the 1x8" boards ...

Purchased this CD storage case from Ikea. It has perfect dimensions to display model cars 1/18 scale and under. Designed to be mounted against wall, but I decided to mount it within the wall to avoid an awkward extruding look. There is a storage room behind the unit, that allowed me to easily create solid supports for the case. I believe it can ...

This kitchen was white. A little dated but still had some appeal. It all began with the dishwasher needing new dish grates. It turned out these were not available any more - so we decided to replace it (the dishwasher). This involved removing ceramic tiling and reconstructing the Island. Which in turn led to purchasing new cabnetry and so on and...

This was a two stage project. About 6 years ago the walkway was done in flagstone - replacing the builder's original patio slabs. =We added two large slabs of stone for the steps and surrounded the walkway with some larger rocks. In order to make the walkway more visible to passer-bys we cut down one of the trees that blocked the line of sight.

This project is about a shed we built around the same time we build our deck. It was build in sections in the garage and then put together out back. The floors are plywood and it sits on 6 posts that are cemented into the ground. We used wood shingles for the roof and ran an electrical line out there so that we could put some lights inside. We m...
